Mascara

Hmmmm....Mascara...... their is so much to say..... where do I start?

Well the first thing I want to make perfectly clear is NEVER EVER Pump the mascara wand!!!

Every time you pump the mascara wand, air gets into the tube. This creates a possible breeding ground for germs and eye mites, or dry out sooner than it should. If your mascara is clumpy or smells funny, throw it out! You should replace your mascara every 3 – 4 months.

How do you pick the best mascara for you?
First think of the brush.

Fat brushes create voluptuous lashes,

while skinny brushes will coat each lash perfectly with out clumping. (This is the best macara for me.)

Wands with a curved end will help curl the lashes.

Then think about the formula.

      • Lengthening mascara - focus on formulas that are less dense, with ingredients for easy glide and smooth even coverage that will reach the very tips, mascara application that effectively builds on the very tips is key to lengthening eyelashes. To assist with this, the wands tend to have bristles that are shorter and in more tightly packed groups, to ensure that every lash gets well coated in mascara, from base to tip.

      • Thickening mascara - Volume building mascaras build thickness to the lashes creating a stronger visual presence. With that in mind, the formulas have building ingredients like waxes and polymers that will help build on the lashes, as they are coated 2 cotes work the best. The wands for this tend to have longer, fine, evenly spaced bristles for maximum quantity and even coats

      • Waterproof mascara - Obviously these "non-smudging" mascaras contain special synthetic formulas meant to repel moisture. But these can be harsh on your lashes. Waterproof mascara is great for long-lasting special occasions like weddings when you know you are going to cry. Also for someone who often touches their eyes, and is worried about smudging, waterproof mascara is a great solution. Because of their oil base, these formulas can be harder to remove than washable mascaras, which can lead to the tugging, pulling or breaking of fragile lashes. Because of this, experts suggest limiting usage.

You should wiggle or zig zag the wand for a more even coat and it helps cut down on clumping. If you use a eyelash curler hold it under your blow dryer for a few seconds (carful not to get it to hot) it will gives eyes the appearance of being wider.

Dont forget to apply to the top of the lashes

Im sure I left out lots of important tips please feel free to comment and/or share your favorite tips.

How many different Fragrance do you Have?

Fragrance is a huge business in the United States at over $4 billion in retail sales
annually. With prices averaging higher than most other beauty categories.

I’ll bet you didn’t know that the average woman in the United States owns 8 bottles of
fragrance! And she is likely to buy fragrances from a variety of channels including department
stores, mass retailers, and direct sellers like Avon. For most women, fragrance is both a fun,
affordable indulgence and an essential part of good grooming that says something about her to the world. Women enjoy buying it, and they don’t want to be without it.

Although a woman may have a favorite ‘signature scent’, she will often pick a fragrance
to wear based on occasion. Over 95% of women will wear a fragrance for a special occasion
like a wedding or a special night out. In these situations a woman selects a fragrance to help
her feel feminine, elegant and sophisticated. For social occasions like a casual evening with
friends, over 90% of women will use a fragrance to help them feel attractive and beautiful. We
have also found that even for everyday occasions like running errands or going to the office,
an overwhelming number of women wear fragrance. In these situations women are looking for
a clean, fresh and energized scent, and may choose a fine fragrance spray or other forms like
body mists or lotions. So, as you can see, women not only use a lot of fragrance, but they
tend to use different fragrances for different occasions. That’s why we offer many different
options to satisfy you.

It sometimes seems that a new fragrance is launched every week. And indeed, since
the early 90’s, the number of new fragrances launched in the marketplace each year has more than tripled! But while older women may tend to stick with a favorite fragrance for years and even decades, today’s generation of fragrance users is much more willing to experiment and try new scents more frequently.

Over the past several years there has been a big increase in the number of designer
and celebrity fragrances coming to market. Many of these brands, like Reese Witherspoon's In Bloom, are among the top selling fragrances in the US. Customers perceive designer fragrances to be of higher quality and they tell us that they are very interested in trying new celebrity fragrances.

So to help you make the most of this trend, I want to tell you about three celebrity fragrances in my Avon portfolio of products.
